Matt focuses his practice on criminal defense, personal injury, and family law issues. He has tried hundreds of cases, including civil and criminal jury trials, and he enjoys being in the courtroom. He also has federal litigation experience and has appeared on multiple occassions in federal court on behalf of clients.
Prior to launching his own firm, Matt worked at a law firm in Richmond where he primarily represented insurance companies and their insureds, as well as working for several sports production companies and on family law issues. He also worked as an assistant public defender in Lynchburg for three and half years.
Matt has represented people charged with a wide variety of criminal offenses, ranging from robbery and aggravated malicious wounding to DUIs, other misdemeanors, and probation violations. He also has experience with a wide variety of civil matters, including personal injury, divorce, child custody, and child support cases.
Matt graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2006, and he is also licensed to practice law in Wisconsin. He obtained his undergraduate degree in biology from Purdue University in 2003. In his spare time, he enjoys running, hiking, and cooking.
